Dragonlady wrote:I should have done that tooFindy. But of course I had to do it the hard way and I used my oil paintings... now I have to wait two or three days until they dry and then I won't have the time, so it will most probably be next week end. Jools, you should have sent two tiles, I am already thinking about throwing it away..
I guess I can always sand it down and glue a piece f paper on it. I'll never learn
I feel your pain; this stupid little piece of wood is really p**sing me right the **** off. I wasn't happy with what I had in the first place, and now the wood/paint surface is reacting totally differently than the samples I did in my sketchbook (duh, of course

Ok..... hours of work to go on it. Better get back to it.
Lotsa love for y'all.

If needs be I'd suggest a light sand to key the surface and using a white acrylic to coat the surface again.

Of course the image tags don't work.... why would they, on a day like this?
Anyway, the vine thing on the distressed "boards" is the front and the tengwar stuff is the back.

Turin, it's lovely, a different approach to the pink ribbon theme, I know you said you weren't happy with some of your ideas but this one is great, well done
I know Carol will love it as much as the others she already has

There you go, Turin.
You tried to link webpages and not images. Safest way is to host them on this forum (yes, this forum does a bit of hosting).

I'm done too. Why did I have to paint directly on the tile and in oils? It took ages to dry after each coat, and then I had lot of dust incrusted into it... Not to mention the ink almost disolved when I coated in with varnish. BUt it's presentable enough and I think it will do the trick

See you can see all the bits of dust
Nicely done Turin!

I was absolutely CERTAIN that someone was going to ask me what the back of the tile said... and I was SOOOOO looking forward to saying "Where's the fun in that? Translate it yourself!".

Re: Here's What I Created.
Well done everyone, so far! Dragonlady, with an adorable face like that no one will notice any bits of dust. It all adds to the charm.
Tree, yours is lovely (and I love the back too, erm whichever, I love both sides).
I've been so busy I've forgotten to check in here. It's been really exciting to be a part of this. Thank you for inviting me. *hugs*

Re: Here's What I Created.
How many tiles are there altogether?
If I remember correctly, Graeme made 30, one got lost to Zanzibar (maybe it will show up one day decorated by an anonymous* Zanzibar artist?), 14 have arrived, does that mean that 15 are still on the loose?
* He better remain anonymous or I'll launch a lawsuit for misappropriation of mail or something like that...

Re: Here's What I Created.
There is one to go to Blacki, and the piece Thorleif didn't use is going to Siri.
I lost count of how many bits we sent in the end but it was around 30. Let's have a think...........
Those remaining are..Cyanure, Dragonlady, Alarie, Tobi, Tobias, Canuck Girl, Me2, AJ, Rosie, Biinha, Adriana, Siri, Blacki, Irene, Avara, Moff, Corwin, Starry, I think thats 18 left to arrive.
Gosh with 14 already there that makes 32 all together
