WEEKLY UPDATE.

This thread will be just for the weekly update of important details. Some members are busy with school and such, one thread is easy for them to follow the relevant details.

I have heard from Cyanure and she has decided that the wall hanging idea was the best option.
For those of you who haven't seen it here is the original post from Graeme.

Simply we give Carol a small thin piece of wood with some pegs in it along with some pink ribbon, we then do whatever we want on the white square pieces of wood. The benefit of this idea is that the pieces are interchangeable, it does not matter which order Carol strings them in, and if other people want to join in later on there is scope to add further pieces; also if some people would prefer their tiles to be finished they can be forwarded to Inki - as they're not going to be right next to one another it does not matter if the surface of one is slightly different to the other
The downside obviously is that it's not a puzzle
I will let you know here when we send the pieces out to people, hopefully it will be later this week

Many apologies for not keeping on top of this thread.
Last week Graeme and I mailed out packages and already most of them have arrived. I think we're waiting to hear from 6 or 7 folks now.
Eric, already has completed his tile.
Please do not send your piece to Carol until we know that Inki has at least posted out the hanger, better to wait until we know Carol has it I think.
There is a new thread for you to post a photo of your finshed piece if you wish to share it with everyone.

So far we are waiting for Inki to complete the hanger and get it posted, she hopes to do this by Monday. On the back of the hanger she has put a dedication...FROM THE HOWERS DEDICATED WITH HOPE AND LOVE TO CAROL 2008.
Along with this Inki is sending a handwritten note in the form of a very short story, something like this....
Once upon a time,
There was a great Group of Friends from around the world, who called themselves the Howers, since that was much shorter than calling themselves People-who-like-Mr-John-Howe's-art-and-are-friends-from-everywhere-you-can-imagine.
One of them had a terrible evil malady befall them, and the Howers were grief stricken.
Worse, being from around the world, they could not be there to hug her personally.
And they wanted to do more than tell her how much they cared by emails and notes.
So, sneakily, the craziest Hower who calls herself Cyanure convened the Howers in their secret castle on a remote island.
And after much eating of chocolate and discussing at the Not-so-Round Table, all of them came up with a beautiful idea that would give this stricken Hower something to have that would remind her everyone was thinking of her always.
I have posted a piece to Biinha today, if you can think of anyone else we missed in the first instance then please let me know

Just a quick note to say we now have no more tiles left, we've sent out over thirty which should keep Carol going for a while. I won't have chance to prepare any more tiles until after Christmas now.

Keep on posting your pieces to Carol as and when you can, she's enjoying getting them and as she has another chemo sesion on Monday it would be great if a couple of pieces arrived sometime this week
We have had a couple of folks get in touch asking to join in, this is ok but as Graeme said we haven't the time to prepare any more pieces before Christmas. We will happily send more pieces in the New Year if needs be
