Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
I've actually spoken to Guen on the phone and she has her piece She's excited about the whole thing and asked me to say thanks to everyone for doing this for her Mom

Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
I also got mine, I was surprised by how fast it reached me. Thanks, Jools and Graeme! Great job! Now to get creative and send it ASAP!
I got Carol on the phone recently and was glad about her news and her attitude. I hope this will be a further boost for her.

I very much wish we do not forget Cyanure in all this. After all, this is her original idea, and it sometimes appears to be shadowed because she can't take part in its execution as much as she would.

I am with you there Corwin, it was a fantastic idea that Cyanure had and without her none of this would be happening. I am sorry that she has no internet connection and that keeps her from this forum.
Do not worry that Cyanure will be forgotten in all this, I will not take any credit for the idea at all and I will be sure to let Carol know who the idea came from when it is time

Our pieces were waiting for me when I got home, so mark me--and #2-- received.
I need to come up with a good idea now.

I got mine today, too! I'll pass Dean's on to him sometime this week, I hope. And then I'll collect it from him to send for him, too.

Good idea. Could you collect Lucille at the same time, please, if it's no bother?

Piece, ribbons have been received.
I suppose I want to try and ship my piece with the hanger?

Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
Sounds like a good idea.
Just a note about the hanger and ribbon. If you tie one end of the ribbon to the peg, the ribbon will want to hang sideways from the side of the peg, which will keep the pieces from hanging straight. However, if you fold the ribbon in half and hang the loop from the pegs, and thread both ends of the ribbon through the pieces, the pieces will hang straight and the two ends can be tied together at the bottom of the row around a bead or button in a little bow to finish it off.

As far as I'm concerned, Janet speaks Spanish but it looks like she knows what's she's talking about.

Hmmmm, am I suppose to tie on the ribbons or not? And my piece along with it?
I suppose so, might take out some of the confusion.

Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
Inki, I would leave the ribbon as it is, let Carol work it out for herself, it'll give her something to think about when she's having chemo
If you wish to include your piece in the package that's fine. It will save you on postage and trips to the post office. If you need help with shipping then PM me, I have folks willing to help out with that if necessary, don't be shy asking it's no problem ok

Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
That's sad. I understood Janet's Spanish better than I understand French.
Carol is a very creative individual, I think she will have her own way of wanting to string the ribbon and pieces on the hanger. Plus it could definitely be a fun activity to share with Guen.

I've been an idiot. I meant to say Chinese. I'm a bit Spanish-obsessed nowadays because I'm learning the language, which explains the typo.
Avara wrote:That's sad. I understood Janet's Spanish better than I understand French.
I don't know why it's sad but it's certainly understandable since with two languages one doesn't speak it's easier to decipher a few things in the simpler one.

I think it's because Avara learned or tried to learn French at some point.

Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
Actually I have studied both Spanish and French. The reason I said it was "sad" is because I studied Spanish back in high school and haven't touched it since, whereas I studied French in college and have been working on re-learning what I've forgotten in the past year.

Just a wee post to say that as soon as my nose doesn't require it anymore I will "draw" my attention to Carol's puzzle piece.

Re: I Have Recieved My Piece
OK I just joined the forum to keep upto date with things. Thanks Jools for letting me know all the main details and sending the piece.
I have so many forums to follow already and I knew you guys would come up with great ideas for the main design of this gift.
I have my piece and a vague idea of what to do on it. I need to find a moment to actually paint it... not until next week as I have an urgent job to finish until Monday and another important deadline at the end of this month. But I think I can squeeze this in before the end of the month.
